Mu: Meaning + purpose of 'MAP', 'AMSC', and 'PIM'

Posted by MAP Union on 2025-January-7 15:46:02, Tuesday

Fresh from the amplified Gays Against Groomers controversy on social media, we have published new content on the distinctions behind modern terminology and initialisms such as "Minor-Attracted Person" and "Adult-Minor Sexual Contact".

A lot of this might be familiar to readers here, but we felt it appropriate to outline all the issues in one single place after facing criticism for use of "euphemisms". The recent blog was an effort shared between all the committee members.

In the planning

We are planning an article that addresses the topic of identity-based politics, following contributions from a guest and in-house for Mu, as well as debate with a friend of Mu on Heretic TOC. We'll be looking at identity through the lens of three MAP and AAM-founded organizations, and be asking if all of them are missing something in their pattern of (non) engagement:

Can the struggles of MAPs and other "discomforting" minorities help reinvigorate and transform an identity politics that has lost its ability to effect radical, real-world change?
