First, you need to start listening to the trans people who have rejected what they see as the dangerous movement trans has become.

A good place to start is with "Transparency" podcast with Aaron Kimberly, a clinical psychologist and trans person who underwent all of the usual treatments and surgery. She does, despite all of that, still consider herself to be a woman, despite the radical - and irreversibly - physical transformation those treatments made to her. Her new podcast series is entitled "Bearded lesbians," to give an idea of her transformation.

The title of one episode is, tellingly, "Dysphoria is so GAY!"

As for social contagions, well, the most obvious one, of course, is the one that we have all survived, to varying extents, the "pedophile" hysteria.

Beyond that, there were the McCarthy red scares of the fifties, the anti-gay ones to which we are connected, the early American witchhunts of the seventeenth Century, and on-and-on.

So, these movements do exist and with some regularity.

And, I say again, this is an assault on gay kids. I'm going to side with them every time.
