Etenne, there used to be such a thing as "consciousness-raising." When NAMBLA would hold its conferences some many moons ago, there was always a component of consciousness-raising that was intrinsic to them. One cannot assume that people have developed a rational and enlightened consciousness by virtue of having been shat upon their whole lives as boylovers. It takes reasoning and the dissemination of knowledge by those who've gone before them. I think that's largely missing, today but I hope that that's something that NAMBLA's historical works on the web help to provide, along with the works of Free Spirits who are still producing valuable work and of a handful of other organizations. I think it's necessary to start with us, the BL's or MAPs, if you will, to develop our reason and sense of justice and to develop those traits as a means of strengthening our mission and ability to contend with our detractors. |
