That's what makes BC a toxic cult. These guys tell folks that no one will ever love or accept them as they are, except their fellow cult members. Just look at all the horrified reactions to the advice for the babysitter to trust their young friend's parents. A sixteen year old is still going through puberty themselves and still figuring out how to react to their own sexuality. The OP isn't a criminal and if they ask for guidance now and the parents provide that guidance, there is no reason to involve the police or social workers or any of those "experts" which you hate.

Your hatred of experts kind of makes sense. You resent how people make a living off the backs of finding fault with sex offenders without actually helping them or the children they molested. But the alternatives to involving the experts is talking to each other in casual, off the books conversations before any crimes have taken place yet. No teenager ever ended up on the sex offender's registry for talking about their feelings.

Why assume badge involvement? Why predict brutality? Where's the hope? Where's the faith? Where's the positivity? Where's the love? None of us here would brutally crack down on a teenager who admits to sexual arousal feelings in inappropriate contexts. Most of us would walk through the teen's feelings with them and help them make choices going forward that would keep themselves and their young client safe. Why does it seem like everyone here assumes the absolute barbaric worst about these parents that none of us know anything at all about?

There is never going to be any progress in society until we stop seeing each other as polarized exaggerated straw man characters from the harmful narratives of our troubled minds and start by admitting that we don't necessarily know what's in the minds of other people until we give them a chance and talk to them.
