Well, that's very interesting, and I take on board what you are saying, but I'm sure you don't imagine that Django's focus on the Creed was because of its social justice content, implicit or otherwise. Metaphysics is cheap; May I, as an atheist and a non-Christian, be permitted to quote the words of Jesus from Matthew: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Django displays not the slightest interest in Christ's teaching in the Gospels, and when, earlier on, I merely paraphrased a portion of it, concerning reciprocity - that if we want understanding, forgiveness and mercy then we should be prepared to extend these qualities to others - his reaction was that people who say such things "DISGUST" him - in capitals, no less. Django will keep the promise of resurrection and life eternal, thank you very much; can't face up to mortality, to the fact that the universe can do very well without my personality; must protect the embattled ego at all costs. It's that super special Yank version of Christianity, better known as the worship of Mammon: the worship of greed, of empire, of the unlimited degradation of humans who don't belong to your group, of the torture of the animals, of the laying waste to the biosphere. Let's face it. If Jesus were delivering his message today, Django would regard him as a libtard commie who would be justly punished by the authorities, and boo-hoo to all the liberal whining about crucifixion being a cruel and unusual punishment. If you don't love America, then go and live in North Korea, you commie libtard! You know the formula as well as I do. ![]() |
