All yanks, of course. But whilst Catholicism, unsurprisingly, has been no friend of Marxian materialist communism, neither has it been a friend of materialist neoliberal capitalism. Its social philosophy is a Third Way, distributism, or Christian democracy, support for labour and for unions, care for people and planet, very far indeed from any neoliberal Yank conception of capitalism. But I wouldn't expect you to care any more about Catholic social teaching than about the teachings of Christ, so the subject is moot.
