You collectivists want to impose punitive seizure of property and other assets from those who worked hard, assumed risk, or were just blessed with good fortune - with the iron hand of GOVERNMENT at state gunpoint - and give it to those who often produce or contribute NOTHING....Punishing success. An enforced altruism. St Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 THAT THOSE WHO DON'T WORK SHOULDN'T EAT.... I've given plenty of both my finances and volunteer time....countless hours giving legal advice and services to those less fortunate....My better half the chef gives of his time volunteering in local soup kitchens and homeless shelters....every Thanksgiving and Christmas we leave 10-15 frozen turkeys on the doorsteps of families local parish priests and the St Vincent de Paul group has told us could use them. And that's not all we do. But hey, I'm far from perfect....I'm deeply flawed....and I humbly go to confession as often as I can. I seldom talk about any of this because I expect no thanks or acknowledgement whatsoever. I mention it here because you have made many WRONG assumptions about me solely 'cuz I hold drastically different political, social, and economic views and opinions than you do....that and I happen to deeply love the very nation you detest and point to as the very nexus of evil and oppression in the world.
