nEwshound, Sandusky has been using this excuse, the first refuge of a scoundrel, from the moment it went mainstream public. And all of his very few vocal supporters and enablers have managed to muster some similarly worded bit of dissembling crapola. He built a factory-for-boys-that-would-feed-his-sexual-pleasure and any good he did along the way was purely incidental. The depth and breadth of his scheme to create such unfettered access to a steady stream of just the right kind of boy for his self-satisfaction-at-all-costs crusade is the true crux of his guilt. I can't imagine there is a seated juror who won't see that, above all, as the most damning evidence of his desire to get what he wanted that will trump any belief that he had any other truly worthy goal regardles sof how much of that might have occurred. Lots of boys and girls got a lot out of Second Mile. And they did so while the boys Sandusky was abusing paid their price of entry to such benefits. Do you think the Second Mile kids in the area, now adults, aren't thinking that very same thing as all this comes out? "I got the fruit while those boys got the shaft. My benefit was paid for with their pain". Truly ugly. There is simply no one left innocent here, no one left unsullied by Sandusky's masquerade as "a friend, mentor, and generous benefactor of children". And there isn't a decent and true-blue bL at bC who doesn't recognize that fact regardless of how much they want to make this trial seem like a witch-hunt to assuage the very same perception they have of their own past experience in that regard! love, tj |
