Sandusky has a real love for, and interest in, boys. Having had some success in coaching, he decides to establish a charity for disadvantaged boys. While he recognizes his sexual attraction to boys, for many years he suppresses it. Then one horny boy offers himself sexually (save your sneers, this has been documented), and Sandusky succumbs. Various opportunities begin to present themselves as the boys in the charity pass the word around that their benefactor will cooperate, and these incidents become more and more numerous. In time, Sandusky comes to expect such attentions, and becomes more forward, perhaps even "addicted."

But eventually, a mother gets suspicious and contacts Sandusky, but after discussing the matter decides not to call the police. Later, another mother finds out about her son's involvement, and does call the police. The police then start to canvas every boy known to have been close to Sandusky, threatening them if they don't tell the police what they want to hear. It becomes apparent that there is a lot of money to be made through civil suits, and some of the former loved boys yield to the temptation and embellish their stories to increase the potential monetary yield.
