Hamas has not agreed to disarmament, though it has indicated that it is open to negotiations. But in any case the crucial clause is 'once peace is established'. This is far from being the case, since there is as yet no force in Gaza capable of replacing Hamas. Are you seriously suggesting that there should be no law and order in Gaza at all, and that the civilian population should be left to the mercy of the various gangs and militias (many of which have been sponsored by Israel)? What is truly shocking is that the Israelis are once again weaponising aid and threatening the starvation of civilians, and for what? In order to compel Hamas to find the remains of a few lifeless bodies slightly faster than might otherwise be the case.
