My answer to this yesterday seems to have oddly disappeared, but here is a much briefer version. Timarchos being "released from being a "child" does not mean he was 18/21. Aischines also described him as a παῖς (boy), μειράκιον (adolescent), “still a boy,” “at school,” “living with lovers,” and “before his beard grew”, suggesting he was probably around 16 to 17 when his alleged career as a boy prostitute ended. If this is the nearest you can come to clear evidence from a Greek source that men of 18-21 were prostitutes, then I think you've proven my point that there is none. www.amazon.com/dp/1481222112
