In my experience, in the occult world, sockpuppets are sometimes made to preserve the purity of a main account, whilst the sockpuppet essentially does the dirty work. Bromios is itself Greek in origin, an epithet of Dionysus. Hence, the irony. It's also noteworthy that you take Edmund's style of transliteration, "Bromios", not "Bromius" as it's usually translated.
