This supports a suspicion I've had prior. I think you and Edmund are the same person now. The times you were posting prior were too similar, within the same 10 minute window sometimes, it felt strange that Edmund was clarifying 'your' points, now you defend 'him' and his "achievements" (not to diminish what he has done, simply a quote). Your style even merges here, you take up the righteous vitriol Edmund had before, now that 'he' can no longer post after supposedly leaving the conversation. I don't particularly care for personal attacks either way. When I spoke of intellectual merit, it wasn't about intelligence but argument style. A genius can have very low intellectual merit if they can't format their ideas coherently. It's the unyielding style of argument and backsliding into ad hominem that harms his merit. If you truly are the same person, it's just in poor taste. Public messages won't change a ton, only you will know. From my own time in occult movements, I've grown all to familiar with kind of sockpuppet behaviour, but it is just tacky. Those who have done a lot should think highly of themselves, IMO one of the cult of the lamb's biggest issues is how it casts arrogance and pride as sins. Doing that by pretending to be someone else is less charming, though. Feels far more self-effacious, a bit of grandeur can be a good flair. Perhaps, though, someone using an epithet of Dionysus as their username, and claiming that discussions of Greek is "above (their) pay grade" was a bit too on the nose. |
