Haven't really followed this story, but from my limited experience of the city there could be something to be said for nuking LA.

I mean, eventually the city is going to be redesigned by a massive seismic event anyway and they might get it less hideously wrong next time, but why take the risk? It's a sprawling urban abomination, and I'm just afraid that one nuke might not be enough.

And just to show I'm not being all ethnonationalist about this, I would be completely happy for the whole West Midlands conurbation to be nuked in exchange, and I'd throw in Luton and Wigan for free.
