TDS is real, and in their rush to press their advantage the Dems risk overreach. Trump said: "“They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay, and it’s going to be over very soon.” It is perfectly obvious that Trump did not mean that the obliteration of two California cities would be a "small price to pay" for preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. Exactly the opposite. Failing to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, he was claiming, would create the risk of the Iranians mounting an attack which would do that. Trump's logic is flawed. (Who, for one thing, gave Trump the power to decide what countries have what weapons?) But illogically attributing to him a meaning he obviously did not intend (even if his inarticulacy provides some slight surface plausibility for that interpretation) does not help to make the anti-Trump case. This man has done enough insane things that nobody should have to be inventing more of them. hugzu ;-p ![]() |
