I have been thinking about what you wrote about a successor to Nambla in a recent post and over the years have given this a lot if thought. I am convinced that a real world presence is absolutely necessary. Of course, we are also BLs and getting us to agree on anything is next to impossible :P Yes, there are a lot of things we could and should do that don't require "acceptance". We do not need a new NAMbLA or any new political organization, we need to start smaller. 25 years ago, we started to form social groups just for people to hang out with each other, which scared the hell out of "the powers that be". They quickly made it impossible for us to continue, violating our right of "Freedom of assembly' in the process I might add. We need to form a "task group" with eventually a branch in every state (and eventually multiple chapters in large cities) It doesn't matter what the task is (reason for meeting). It could simply be a barbecue club. The important part is getting people together, talking, and involved. Yes, I know that this is a dangerous path to take but at some point, we are going to have to stop being afraid as a community. It can't continue to be "every man for himself"....which may also go against our nature as BLs :P We can't seek big daddy heterosexuals approval. We need to move forward with out it and in spite of them or we will never move forward. That does not mean we have to flaunt it or be "in their face"... prudence is always a good thing :) I say we call it the "Back Ally club". That is the conclusion that I have come to in any event.....
