Also, I don't read malevolent, right-wing conspiracy lie-factories, so I didn't run into it from that angle, either. The only way to do a "camp" would be to announce that it will happen and what general area it will happen but not announce the specific location until just before the event. That has its problems but I think that's the only way to do it. That, or not announce it publicly and only tell a select group of known trustworthy people about it. Yes, it's hard being us, isn't it? It's a long way from when NAMBLA could book hotel conference rooms under its own name for the regular nationwide confabs and openly invite people to attend. Literally, anyone could show up and, mostly, it worked. Until it didn't. "Suffer a witch not to live!" They'll soon be demanding that we not breathe the same air as they do. We've been "virtualized" to an alarming extent. For the time being, we still have Zoom or Discord or Telegram. Have we ever explored the possibility of putting together virtual conferences? |
