A 'Prime Minister with balls' would be more to the point. The reason why Brexit has not freed Britain from "globalist elites" is because combatting global capitalism was never the point of Brexit, but rather the opposite. Global capital was behind Brexit; look at the people who supported and funded the campaign. Billionaire magnate Rupert Murdoch has summarised the whole reason why a significant portion of the "global elites" wanted Brexit: “When I go into Downing Street, they do what I say; when I go to Brussels, they take no notice.” In other words, the UK state is more susceptible to lobbying by foreign capitalist oligarchs than the EU. In the world that Trump is creating, in which only power counts even between supposed 'allies', a relatively small European country like Britain has two options: either be totally subordinate to the US, or instead belong to the European bloc, within which we will at least be treated as equals. Only the latter path enables us to preserve any useful sovereignty. I have no idea why you think 'the Left' "incited" the shooting of a US citizen. When Jean Charles de Menezes was killed by London police in 2005 it made me deeply ashamed of my country. Instead of excusing the military occupation of civil society by your own government, you ought to be opposing it; but then I suppose the Right are actually quite comfortable with living under authoritarian rule. Fascism has always had a certain glamour.
