I'm sorry, I have a perverse attachment to civilisation, to the rule of law. I don't want to live in a society in which armed agents of the government shoot citizens in the street who look at them the wrong way. I don't want to live in a society in which the population is cowed into meekness by the readiness of the state to deploy lethal violence to crush expressions of dissent. Right wingers prate of liberty, but actually they believe in liberty for the powerful and the wealthy; they are opposed to the liberty of everyone else, as the responses on this forum to the shooting of Renee Good amply demonstrates. They believe in the inalienable right to life of the embryo; but you better not make the mistake of being born, because, once you're out of the womb, your right to life effectively ceases.
