I once lived in a society where violence by the government was unheard of. Of course they would make life difficult, but violence in the streets: no.

I don't want to live in a society in which armed agents of the government shoot citizens in the street who look at them the wrong way.

If we remove the "of the government", then a lot of countries qualify. Armed gangs patrol areas, and they do not need to be heavily armed, just the option of knives or being out-numbered is enough. And they are unreasonable. So far, i still believe that even ICE is reasonable and do not arrest American citizen for long.
