I don't believe that ideas are inherently harmful in of themselves Depends what you mean by inherently. the idea that I can jump off a 20 storey building is harmful. Is it "inherently" harmful, and does that matter? I'm not sure what's the point moving them away from irrationality unless it's because it impacts the real world in some way. Sure, but ideas can, and do, lead to actions. if someone claims that they believe that they should give away all their possessions to the poor, but never actually do it, then do they really believe what they claim to believe? |
