"Perhaps not how they vote, but their political thoughts and opinions matter. If they are super irrational or have a bizarre or warped view of reality, It is rational to want to move away from irrationality."

I'm skeptical of who counts as "super irrational." I think people have a natural incentive to be somewhat rational in their daily lives when their personal choices are not shielded from their direct consequences. Obviously, that goes out the window when it comes to religion and politics because there is little opportunity to directly experience and apprehend consequences that (supposedly) occur in the afterlife or consequences meted out by the political process, in which case being "super irrational" is pretty much the norm. To be otherwise takes a degree of ideological hyperrationality that most people would avoid, so I don't see how it would be realistic to expect that from most people.

Also, I don't believe that ideas are inherently harmful in of themselves, so I'm not sure what's the point moving them away from irrationality unless it's because it impacts the real world in some way.
