Probably not much point in replying to such a witless response, but I do not approve of Putin's invasion of Ukraine, however much it was provoked by the West. Putin is nearly as much a barbarian as Biden and Trump. However, the two cases are disanalogous. Russia is dealing with what it considers a dire security threat on its borders, in a bloody, but fairly ordinary, war. America is funding a genocidal apartheid state that is massacring civilians in their droves in an attempt to ethnically cleanse the population, an action that has been widely condemned by international bodies set up by Western governments to protect human rights; and it is doing this not out of concern for its own security, as in the case of Russia, but out of a combination of concern for maintaining its unjust dominion over the wider world and a fanatical adherence to Zionism. Furthermore, the war could be swiftly ended by the West if it acknowledged that the security needs of other great states are just as legitimate as its own. This is why the Pope very wisely called for a negotiated settlement - and was roundly accused of being a Putin stooge by our mediocre crop of politicians, just for advocating peace. I am in good company. |
