That is correct, but "dominated" is possibly too strong. The Republican Senate majority is small, and only a minority is firmly MAGA. The House is closer than last time, and includes a significant minority that has an agenda not aligned with Trump's. A system more like Europe's would be an improvement. The current US system reflects a compromise between free and slave states, giving the latter disproportionate power (the 3/5 compromise). But right wing, fundamentally erotophobic governments are rising all over Europe. So a more democratic electoral system does not guarantee less erotophobic outcomes. Imperialism and profit at all costs has been the policy of both US parties since the dawn of the union. Settlor states like the US are inherently committed to extractive agendas that transfer surplus profits to elites. Such transfers were the purpose of colonialism. hugzu ;-p
