Thanks for that title, as i had not heard of it! The closest i had come to exploring that era was in David Pivar's book 'Purity Crusade: Sexual Morality and Social Control, 1868-1900'. As for feminism, you should know that there are many factions, and today's factions don't always agree with yesterday's (tho are mostly anti-pedo). Your anti-feminism (?) now seems a bit shallow and reactionary; but you should know that when ANY subject is demonized by the media, most of such identity movements like feminists (whom are seeking to expand exponentially) work hard to conform and avoid the ideologically-challenged issues. Why? Something worth investigating, but probably because they don't want to lose either their funding (and the prestige that comes with), or fear the thugs who are usually deployed to fuck with all nonconformists. The former reasons (not the thugs, i presume) were the reason that the American Psychological Association chose to betray its own system and "bend the knee" to congress when j.helms and co's "exposed" their very public (and peer reviewed) article (published in their journal) by Rind and co's. The book 'Censoring Sex Research' came out of that. Thugs Thugs that come with the ongoing cointelpro game, that is. Thugs who regularly attacked gay bars after closing hours (to which groups like the Pynk Panthers --an off-shoot of the Guardian Angels-- organized to counter --until 'gay' people were more fully socially accepted!). Thugs like such whom have regularly tried to intimidate me (and fellow challengers) into silence or "running" (so that they can have their 'cat and mouse' games). Most 'nice' middle class people have no idea how to counter such state-sanctioned thugs, so they self-censor instead. That's what i think, anyway. What do others think? But some feminists have not 'bent the knee'. There are a few, but i don't feel like putting more of a target on them, at the moment. But i'm sure others will be glad to share such a list if you're at all inclined. Btw, what does WCTU stand for? |
