I am not making some juvenile claim that paedophiles are better than or worse than other people. Or at least, not intriniscally. My point is rather that we are fortunate: our position outside the values-system of our culture is a privileged one, and we shouldn't give it up too readily.

No, I do not want "normalcy" if "normalcy" means being brought into the sexual economy of late-capitalism (of which naked bodies on display for consumers to pick and choose is but one particularly gruesome manifestation).

What you seem to want is assimilation - "MAP"s brought into the big tent of liberal identity politics so we can walk down the steet arm-in-arm with our little lovers as shamelessly as the most ill-bred of the faggots do. For my part, I'm horrified by this idea. In many ways, it's worse and more degrading than what we have now.

Fortunately, there is absolutely no prospect of this ever happening. Paedo-perverts cannot and will not ever be permitted to exist within the liberal regime, no matter how well we promise to behave. Gott sei Dank!

So for now we can all safely take comfort in the pleasures of being marginalised (if not oppressed), one of which is the power to appraise our culure with less illusioned eyes.

Unlike the homos and the trannies, boy-perverts have not taken the King's shilling. That doesn't necessarily make us better than they are - clearly, quite a lot of perverts would be only too happy to sell out immediately should the opportunity arise - but it does at least mean that we are free to critique our cultural eros in a way that more popular minorities are seldom disposed to do.

It's not exactly that I think kiddy-fuckers are better than other people, nor that I am necessarily looking down my nose at the muzzled minorities who have bought acceptance at a high price and yet somehow still want to think that they are edgy, poor things.

But I do find myself saying, in the words of the Pharisee, "God, I thank Thee that I am not as other men are."
