People tend to overestimate the influence of parents and to underestimate the role of peers, according to research.

Parents are the absolute arbiters of everything about the child, for the first 4 or 5 years, in general.

This includes what they eat, what they wear, how they wear their hair, what programs they watch, what books they read, what friends they have, what adults they interact with, and so on.

If this boy was 12, or 15, you might have a point. Hes 6.

One other possible survival strategy for the very effeminate boys might be this:

Im not saying I know what the answer is. I am saying I am very skeptical of the explanations given about this boy in particular.

If it turns out that his parents have not consciously or unconsciously encouraged this, and its all spontaneous and natural, then great.

That has yet to be shown.
