As BC's unofficial Official Catfish Wrangler, one of tpka "Tyred's" main jobs is spreading awareness on how to spot a glowie. Some warning signs are: 1) Calling for "bad people" to get banned. Those who pass out pitchforks and try to rally up a mob against an individual in hopes that the mob will see them as insiders. Similar to the anti-homo politicians who so often end up getting caught with a grindr account. 2) Posing as children. This is possibly the biggest red flag of all on a MAP chat site. Often the newbies posing as young people are just old people role playing or trolling to liven up the chat, but the quintessential glowie in our community are the pedo baiters. 3) Acting as therapists. Not only on BC but on any site catering to MAPs there can often be found kind supportive "ears" who just let others talk and then quietly keep records on their "clients." These are the "knowledge is power" types who eventually let the power go to their heads and do stuff like bragging behind the scenes about how much and who they know. Hopefully their inner sanctums aren't infiltrated by glowies who gain access to personal details on the clients, who for the most part never considered themselves to be clients at all and had no idea how detailed the records being kept on them were. 4) Feuds. Another huge red flag are posters who go into feud mode at the first sign of being challenged. Often they are so prickly because deep inside part of them assumes that the person "condemning" them can see past the mask that they hold up for the world to see and they become incredibly invested in making sure that no one else listens to their "accuser." These are the guys you see spamming "LIAR" on every post by certain other posters. When they do that, you can be sure that the person they are starting feuds with has their number.
