Our difficulty is not in knowing what we want, but in making what we want into reality. Activism is impossible in our current situation. By activism I mean seeking to persuade legislators, or those who select legislators - which in a democracy means the general public. We need to convince not politicians, but psychologists, psychiatrists, bloggers and ordinary citizens. Once they think that the status quo is hypocritical and wrong, then a critical mass for social change will begin to gather. The gays managed to do it without the Internet, but it took a lot of time |
