About everything this study is going to find. Oh, wow, suicide rates are high? We're quite lonely at rates higher than most other sections of the population? These things improve not necessarily when we come out but if we get support when we come out? Who would've known! I could've NEVER guessed! Excuse for a moment the sarcasm, but, who is this for? It's certainly not for us- every one of us could have guessed these things with ten seconds of thought. Is it for teleiophiles, people estranged from our experiences? If so, I assure you they could've guessed it with little thought to. I don't mean to be cycnical, but this doesn't affect anything. No one who wasn't already sympathetic to us is going to read this study and think "wow, I'm going to support youthlovers now! I'm not going to condemn them with every fiber of my pedophobic being!" Do you think it'll get those up in their oh-so-professional, scholarly ivory tower to support us? I doubt. For all I know, they're going to look at these statistics and say "and so well it should be! Those rotten molestors ought off themselves!"- it would be of no surprised to me. I'm not saying DON'T make studies on this. I'm just annoyed, and wanna know what you think this will actually do for us. Cause unless it's going to help us out, I don't care for it. If you could present this to an audience to garner emotion to get support for us, then maybe it'll be of some use. But even then, it'll only be of use if it's followed by political action that actually improves our scenario. I don't care for any more of the usual virped-y, half-assed b4u-act type "support." Sincerely, Kenny. |
