As I said in my longer post, doing this research and sharing these findings are not about us thinking these findings are novel or going to surprise people here. A few points to summarize: (a) much of what was said here on the forums and in the past research with LGB populations lead us to both look into these relationships and anticipate these results; (b) it was important for us to show this empirically and now we can start building more complex models off of these results; (b) because we were using newly developed measures, we need to be able to show they are able to detect relationships we expect to see. It painstaking and slow work, but it needs to be done. |
