Except that boys are totally different than girls.

When a boy goes off and has sex with a man, either (1) he's gay and was going to have sex with men anyway or else stay celibate, or (2) he's straight and his heterosexuality will eventually reassert itself. Either way, it's no loss to the family.

As for girls, when they have sex with an older man, that's how the family grows. More specifically, that girl will end up leaving the family and going to live with that man, and that will be how HIS family grows.

The nuclear family as we know it today is actually not all that traditional. The idea of a boy's not having the freedom to leave his family to go explore, or of a girl's not getting married at puberty, is very modern, and hasn't worked too well.

Since boys don't lose value as a multitude of different penises enter them, the way that girls do, boylovers can pretty much do what they want in a traditional society, as long as they're not raping anyone.
