Well, with the little bits of info you are giving here I can not make much of it all. First of all, cops don't tell you they are cops online, so you were probably punked by some a-hole. Cops want you to speak as much as possible while they collect all the info/data/evidence and do NOT say they are cops.... Unless you have a long history of chatting up boys online... even then they would NEVER tell you they are cops. That is just not how it is done. Go home, try to reboot your router and check for 'internet' again but on a different device, preferably a laptop or something rather than your gaming console or cellphone. Better still borrow someone else's laptop (different mac addy/OS/other details on each machine and if on WiFi connect plausible deniability. How do you get your internet connection at home... Cable, telephone line, satellite, cell-service? Do you have a static IP or dynamic IP config/service from your internet supplier? If it is dynamic just shut down the router and pull the plug out of the wall. Let it sit disconnected overnight and then reboot in the morning... Should give you a different IP address depending on the 'downtime switch out' of your ISP. Most of all don't panic. |
