Because -- as any perusal of the historical, anthropological, or artistic record will verify -- attraction to young people is, if not precisely universal, then extremely widespread.

The attraction may be fairly widespread (though it will seem that way if you're looking for it). Great! What about acting on it? Whatever the limitations of WEIRD societies, we have a new and wonderful idea -- that children and their feelings matter, and do not exist for the whim and pleasure of more powerful people. Most or all of these examples of boy love in other times and places are based on the premise that no one gave a shit what the boys actually thought -- often boys of lower social status. If these case are relevant, you've got to dig in and answer that question for each one. And it's hard because societies are so different.

If you want to argue for man-boy sex, you've got to do it in today's context that kids' feelings and well-being are really important. (I know that doesn't settle the question, but at least it's asking the relevant question.)

If it were not, humanity would have died out long ago.

Died out? Without men wanting sex with boys? I'm puzzled.
