before, nobody cared about children?
Surely you aren't saying that your society exclusively holds a "new and wonderful idea" that "children matter" and that children were not cared about in different times and cultures than you. As Sick Rose mentioned, it has been recorded that the boys of samurai families were not without agency. Yet I know only what I have read from other's accounts in books and passed down in history.

I also agree that all other forms of sexuality have had exploitative sides to them. There are exploitative situations with hetero/teleio relationships. Sex trafficking, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, etc. is not a problem that arises simply because it is intergenerational.

You need to argue in today's context but knowing history is important as well, because modern society did not emerge out of nothing.
