How does religion affect societies attitudes re:BL

There are so many religions, each with their own teachings, their own paradigms, their own philosophies. Christianity (both of the major flavors, Catholicism and Protestantism), Buddhism, the Muslim religion, Hinduism, Jainism, Great Spaghetti-monsterism... Then there is Confucianism, Shintoism and Daoism (if they are to be considered "religions" at all). What is seen as right, wrong, just, unjust, "moral", "immoral", etc. are all defined and judged according to these different belief systems. Then, is sex viewed differently in different cultures due to their different religious beliefs? Is this a "good" or a "bad" thing? How can this impact BL'ers? We've seen posts here recently about BL'ers in different cultures, affected not only by the culture they are within, but the "imported" culture of some of their fellow expats, whom they are forced to work and associate with. (Hope this post is seen by some here as asking intelligent questions, questions perhaps worth considering.) Some of us might be curious as to the responses, especially those who may be considering moving abroad to escape the "pedo-steria" so now rampant in North America, parts of Europe, as well as in other European-influenced countries. The world is, after all, a *big* place, despite that silly "Small world" song... Hmm... I suppose I could have just restricted my question to Christianity, but I think that that would have demonstrated a certain ignorance - perhaps even stupidity? - on my part, and a certain lack of awareness of other cultures, etc. Whatever. Anyway, for what it's worth - "World religions, cultures, and BL'ers - what does - or has, or could - it all mean to the lives of the many BL'ers posting here?" Just some things to think about, and maybe discuss...
