But it even goes further than that. If IN THEIR OPINION you represent a risk of committing a sexual offense with a child in the future, they are also bound by law to report that.

Have you got a citation for that? Because what therapists are obligated to report is "child abuse" or suspicion thereof of an identifiable victim. That being said though, I have heard stories of people being committed on the basis of merely having divulged an attraction because therapists don't always properly interpret mandatory reporting laws (for example, as bolded above).
