I don't have as low an opinion of therapists as ErikB, but I see no good that will come of telling him. I believe most therapist truly want to help you. But let's face it. The vast majority don't have a clue as to what being a BLer really means. They rarely see beyond the sexual attraction, and consider anyone WITH that attraction a potential molester. It's not their fault. They are merely going by what they are erroniously taught. Also, it's true that if you admit any past sexual offenses with minors, they are bound by law to report it. But it even goes further than that. If IN THEIR OPINION you represent a risk of committing a sexual offense with a child in the future, they are also bound by law to report that. That last little legal compulsion leaves a huge gray area that isn't specifically defined in the law books. So the bottom line is that if you tell him, you'll be handing him your gonads in a gift wrapped box and will always have to worry about what he will do with them. Dakota |
