You realize I was kidding about that, don't you? ;)

doesn't mean I lose the right to make a fool of myself, does it?
Be careful, you're feeding the Evil Cat straight lines. ;)
...everything I said in it was right! ;)
Yeah, yeah, yeah... You think so, don't you.
Of course I do. Why else would I have said it? :) But by all means, rebut away. I'll hone my flensing knife in anticipation. (You say you were here in the 90's, can you identify who I plagiarized that line from?)
Oh, OK. But, how do I ensure that when I sign up for Skype, I do not end up revealing something about myself and my machine/connection that then would be revealed when I connect through Tor? Is that something to be concerned about?
Use Tor when you fill out the registration form. *listens for the sound of martir slapping his forehead*
Tall, smart...
What, are you writing a personal ad for me to put in the local middle school newspaper? If so, definitely mention that I'm good at basketball, too, and that I have a really cool car with all the gadgets. Boys go for that.

Anyway, for all you know, I could be deliberately misleading you about both.
can you leap tall buildings in a single bound?
No, it usually takes me at least three or four bounds. I can only leap off tall buildings in a single bound. But let's not go there, I don't want this post getting into your list of suicide posts.
I'll (slowly) get back to you [...] "You call that a post? This is a post!"
Fair enough. I can't expect you to review a book in just a couple of days. ;)
Uh, sure, I can format this nicely, but all the damn tags are such a nuisance! What's your secret? Do you have a program that you type, highlight, add format, copy, and paste into the post? Freeware?
Nope. I put in the tags by hand, though I usually put in all the quoting tags at the end so I can just paste the same tags in repeatedly. It really doesn't take much more time than it would take to format text using toolbar buttons and menus in an HTML editor or word processor.

Why bother? Because I believe nice formatting and colors draw and keep people's attention better. I'm serious about that, you get a larger audience if your posts are visually attractive. Research has shown that students learn better from textbooks with color diagrams and pictures, lots of bold section and subsection headings, whitespace between sections, sidebars, etc. than from ones that present the same information as just a wall of text, and even learn better from the exact same thing if it's in color than if it's in black and white, in part because they're more likely to read it, in part because they pay more attention to what they read, and in part because the mind actually retains information better if it's visually attractive. (I guess that's why people who meet me in person nearly always remember me. :-) )

So, if you're going to take time to write something, might as well make it look nice so that what you're saying will get across to more people.
