I asked my source about this. He said the following:

To have a meaningful relationship, you'd have to stay awhile. And the foods take a *long* time to get used to (my source had the shits that lasted for over 30 years...). And all of those places have fairly tough languages to learn. Maybe Hindi or Romanian would be easiest. You can't get to know people if you cannot talk to them.

Course, the best place would be in your own country/culture. But, the dangers... Work for change of the laws.
