Even though I regard you as the best logician I have ever encountered, I cannot agree with this. Billy has a mind( quite possibly not the brightest of minds). To Billy, everything he sees, hears, touches, smells, everything is processed in his mind. Nothing exists for Billy other than what he is aware of. So by this alone, believing he can fly is a subjective truth. Nothing exists without a mind to process it. The old adage " If a tree falls in the forest and no living creature witnessed it, did it really fall?" No it didn't until possibly a living creature passes by and processes it in its brain. Only then did it become an objective truth because a mind or brain became aware. The mind controls all perception. Nothing can be perceived without a mind. And what that mind perceives remains a subjective truth, until, as in the case of Billy, a different perception causes him to think otherwise, Btw, I like redheads and I'm glad he's ok! |
