Yes indeed, the swastika is a very ancient symbol, much used in Jain iconography, as well as in Buddhism, of course. What I should have written was 'The Israeli flag feels like the Nazi flag.' I entirely agree with what you say in your second paragraph. I'm not so optimistic that future Israeli citizens will feel ashamed of their country's behaviour. One can but hope.
