I live in South Africa.

I used to watch Russia Today along with BBC World, Al Jazeera, etc etc but Russia Today is now banned on the upstream providers for SAT TV here. So I cancelled my SAT TV account. You Tube has also now banned the Russian viewpoint, so I am relying on my Android TV box (new, and about US$ 30 for my newsfeed. it is FAB BTW. I have over 3500 news channels!)

I am unable to watch BBC World, Sky News and Al Jazeera any more as they carry the same story pretty much. Since the war in Ukraine has stalled all the non-news items relating to it are being replayed endlessly... YUCK! And no other news is being covered. WTF!

I sometimes find Deutsche Welle and France Today of interest but really the same thing applies to them.

India Today can be OK....

But local South African and African news generally relegates the Ukraine conflict to a more rational slot somewhere down the order when there is little to report, which is most days.

As a lifetime opponent of all war I am aghast at what is going on in Ukraine, in Yemen, Mozambique, Mali, Aghanistan and Myanmar... to name but a few world conflicts.

But war does not happen in a vacuum. I have also been a lifetime opponent of NATO whose message currently seems to control most world mass media.

In the UN GA vote on Ukraine on 2 March most of the "non-aligned" countries abstained. I posted about that here >>>> https://www.boychat.org/oc/messages/141165.htm

Putin is OUT OF ORDER waging war on Ukraine but I also think he was provoked beyond measure by NATO (and the EU) whose military industrial machines are making multiple billions supplying arms to Ukraine.

It's the covid pandemic story all over again. The world's billionaires got 54% richer during the first 12 months of the pandemic...

A little story which made it in our local news but nowhere else that I can see is that to punish Bangladesh for abstaining in the March 2 UN vote Lithuania cancelled 440,000 Covid vaccines to the impoverished country on March 3rd, hurting the poorest of the poor in the process. A spiteful act ne?.

Well done Lithuania. You have earned your place in the hall of infamy. Alongside most of your new friends in NATO and the EU.
