sounds more like addiction/relapse

You know they say the most dangerous time of an addict's life is the dry spell that follows them getting their lives in order. As the unmedicated days and months go by, the body's ability to feel slowly grows back and after a long line of dark pleasureless days they begin to once again appreciate the little things in life that they used to miss when they were caught up in active addiction.

Dangerous because growing back to the degree necessary to appreciate the little things in life means that the person experiences everything more intensely, including their drug of choice. If they go back and take just a small dose it hits them harder than a large dose did back when they were used to it. Think Joe Biden huffing kid's hair like it was airplane glue. If you are nutting in your pants over brief interactions with children out in public that could be looked at as a good sign or a bad one. Good sign because that shows how "good you have been" lately, but bad sign as it shows how easy it would be to fall back into temptation.
