It's so easy for Western-centric gents to get caught up in broad-brushing "human nature" and such things, i find. That's not "a choice" made by chance, either. You paraphrased: all the world is a stage and all the men and women merely players. -- The crucial context being their worlds (or at least the beliefs they openly subordinated to) made up of thugs held in reserve. Driven to madness, then, after all. In the Willful Drive to empire (or be one of its dutiful satellites, like Australia or Canada), short-lived and far from "great" as it may well turn out. "Great" only in the severely alienated mindset that birthed an "Alexander 'the great'". "Great" only in scared-stiff academics pissing their pants when faced with stuff they're NEVER prepared for. Huh. All these people you thought you once knew, turned into proverbial manikens, puppets even. Scared stiff by the thugs held in reserve and the threat of using them. Or having, in the case of much of Europe, witnessed war. THAT'S why they go so insane trying to warn their kids with such insane ways!! But being socially unable to "spell it out" for various reasons, including loving having kids as "super pets" (a John Holt idea, i think). You agree? In part? You have a few words you've created for your spiritual mantra, maybe? The important thing is NOT to judge yourself with the ideological lens of what surrounds you but is far from sane. Just underneath the surfaces, anyway. So the trick is to NOT stop yourself, but to find some one(s) to facilitate your 'breakdown', your psychic/psychological journey! As R.D.Laing advocated, and which i happen to think makes sense. Better done with the active participation of the family one chooses, tho!! Not to have to always lure a facilitator! Better to remember those abilities and keep them and build on them! But not to get TOO alienated! Thus, to keep going to where you are 'called', and not become too much of a hermit. So when you switched to Jokerman, laughing, did you by chance smoke some herb? Or see SnoopDogg's video animation (i think part A.i.) about Jokerman smoking the sweet herb?!? It's a MUST watch one! (tho no younger dudes noted, they, i'm sure, remain in the HEART of Snoop and co's sometime work with the youth of the 'hood. RESPECT!!) And we need not join too deeply in the insanity as we perceive it (intuitively).
