That boy itch you are feeling is the devil talking. Everyone goes through it. Some people, the devil is whispering in their ear to eat half a box of left over donuts. "Nobody's gonna know," the devil lies. In time people can tell who cleans up after the office parties by the way his clothes start to not fit. Drooling at the sight of birthday cake. Never hesitates to volunteer for washing up dooty. Reminding people when it's their turn to pick up breakfast for the team. "Look at that fatass," people scoff at him behind his back. All he thinks about is pastries! That's how the people would look at you if you went catting around on the prowl for boys. They'll notice the way you hungrily watch boy's butts when you think no one is watching. They'll scoff when they notice that the only one you have eyes for is junior, almost ignoring the game on tv, politics and even your buddy's wives. A man like that could get a reputation. A better mantra would be to repeat to yourself "God is watching." Be friendly and kind to everyone you meet, with no expectation that they would ever be the path for a young friend to come into your life. When you make adult friends who you like and who share your interests THEY will be the network that notices how good you are with children. "He doesn't even ask for their snap," in the know parents vouch for you with other parents who don't know you. Before you know God might connect you to special child in need of just what you have to offer, but it was you building up your social network that enabled him to bless the both of you with each other. ![]() |
