I'm thinking about pedophilia denial

Some people deny that pedophilia exists. They claim pedophiles just find kids cute in the sense of nurturing instincts, not reproductive instincts (sexuality). They deny that it's a sexuality. They think, "everyone finds kids cute, it's not a sexual thing". And they claim that pedophiles are somehow mistaking their nurturing instincts for sexual/romantic feelings.

I think some people recognise that men can be pedophiles, but use the above denial for female pedophiles.

I think pedophilia denial is ridiculous and rooted in sexual adultism. It shows how they think pedophilia is a horrible thing if they deny it like that. Also, it might also show that they buy into the "sexual abuse is always about power and not attraction/sexual desire" narrative. Or perhaps they deny that someone is a pedophile because they feel like they're a good person, and they think if pedophiles existed, they'd have to be bad people.

But just because pedophilia is a sexuality and not just a nurturing instinct, doesn't mean there isn't a nurturing aspect to it. In fact, we already know that breastfeeding a baby is both sexual and nurturing. Sexuality and nurturing are not mutually exclusive. Mothers typically aren't sexually attracted to their babies, but they find them cute and are sexually aroused by breastfeeding.

I'm not sure whether a baby is sexually aroused by breastfeeding or not, but if they are, I suppose it makes breastfeeding technically a pedophilic act, even if society will obviously deny that because sexual activity between adults and kids is supposedly wrong, and meanwhile, breastfeeding is necessary. In the past I've said breastfeeding isn't sexual to the baby, because I felt that there was no need for the baby to be sexually aroused from an evolutionary perspective, because they're really just drinking milk. But consider that people think sucking a breast is a sexual act when someone other than a baby does it. Like they say that if a 6-year-old is still "breastfeeding", that's sexual abuse.
