This is a discussion board, not a poetry recital. If your writing is so unclear it can’t be understood, that’s not just bad communication, it weakens the art too. Even abstract ideas should give the reader something to grab onto. Right now, it feels intentionally inaccessible. People who do this often aren’t trying to engage. When others don’t understand, they fall back on “it’s art, you just don’t get it.” That way, they’re never at fault and never have to improve, because everything is excused in the name of art. And if being clear enough for people to actually read your posts without wading through distracting formatting is somehow a “neocolonial imperative,” then you’re missing how people read. No one is asking you to conform. They’re asking you to communicate. This isn’t about convention, it’s about substance. If your goal is to make your writing so hard on the eyes that no one can even focus on what you’re saying, then I guess you’ve achieved it. |
