I agree that anthropological precedent is valid in scientific study, but I would caution the assumption that an industrialization of the west, means more advanced thought in sexual or inter-relational advancement. The ability to develop assembly line robots does not equate to understanding of the complexities of coming-of-age issues and those who experience "unconventional sexualities". I believe that the west was stunted in this area. In 1885 and prior, in the US, the age of consent in most states was 12, 10, and one 7. So what happened? First, there was NOT any recorded mass-emotional harm crisis up to that point. Second, this shift to raising the AoC was based on religious fundamentalism and moral panic. It was a christian feminist group called Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) who started this whole protectionist moral panic. Read Delinquent Daughters by Mary E. Odem. The scientific reality is that children have sexual thoughts and feelings and many times act on them. It is also harmful to deny them agency of these feelings as written in Harmful to minors by Judith Levine. So the way I see it is the default is that child sex is normal behavior in the human experience (Science says so), and limitations based on moral laws of a distorted perception which are forced on others, is the contaminate. The way I see how aliens will help, is they will simply open eyes to fact, truth and science. That is all. They will not interfere in our own experience called human life. Doing so would be the same as these WCTU cunts who fucked everything up 150 years ago. I see it as we have gone too far (in all areas, not just sexuality oppression). They just need to reset us before we destroy ourselves. Basically, we are spinning our wheels in the mud and they will winch us out of it. If I am wrong about all of this, let me be the first that is vaporized by their ray-guns, as I would not wish to continue in a more oppressive world.
