Sure, dealing with trolls, antis, etc here (and in society) is part of the current reality of MAPs. But should we also be attacking ourselves too? Recently in a few strings and also over the past few weeks, I've noticed several mindsets from BLs ranging from a preference for being an outcast, to being a defeatist, to self-hate, etc. It makes me wonder... as a once extremely hot Eddie Furlong in T2 pondered "Are we gonna make it?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpEDSvaP_-8 Instead of banding together with all of our differences, I have seen major cases of "The Princess and the Pea". My first ever post on BC was about an island were we could all live with boys in harmony AS A DREAM. But so many needed to attack this one dream as unrealistic, or not possible, or the only way is seasteading, or even the social democracy framework. It's ONE FUCKING DREAM, OF ONE PERSON, IN ONE POST. Here's a thought. instead of finding comfort in attacking one's dream, provide your own. Then we can find common ground somewhere. The same is true in BC not only for my posts but others I read amongst other posters. M will read a post and provide more context and links for others to read. Instead of being thanked for his contribution, he is attacked for being long-winded. Coony opens his heart and exposes major struggles he faces in pure honesty and vulnerability. Instead of moral support he gets posts claiming its gross. There are others too and sorry if pointing to these instances points out these posters whom I consider BC friends (along with other friends I have not mentioned). As I have said, we will not see total acceptance in our lifetimes, but is that a reason to give up? Or worse, fight against acceptance? or fight each other? Maybe the T-101 was right... "It's in ya natya to destroy yaselves" Living as a MAP is possibly one of the hardest things in life, but is giving up an option? Sometimes knowing that someone has your back, makes all the difference. What is BC? Is it a space for BLs to bond? Or is it a space to get a dopamine fix from "owning" another poster (trolls and antis aside)? ![]() |
